(BOISE, ID) – A man accused of breaking in to Zoo Boise and killing an exotic monkey will spend at least a year in prison. 22-year-old Michael Watkins gave a brief apology before being sentenced Thursday to a year in a prison treatment program. Fourth District Judge Lynn Norton says it will give Watkins a chance to turn his life around. If Watkins fails to comply with standards established by the program, he could spend up to seven years behind bars.
