Actually, the embarrassing typographical error in legislation approved by Congress didn’t stop air traffic controllers and other employees of the Federal Aviation Administration from heading back to work after sequester-related furloughs went into effect last week.

In their rush to end added delays at the nation’s airports, lawmakers rushed through legislation to shift funds around so furloughing of FAA workers would be unnecessary.

However, no one noticed a single missing “s” in the bill, which prevented President Obama from signing it until Tuesday although the furloughs had ended by the weekend.

It took under a minute to fix the typographical error, with Michigan Democratic Sen. Carl Levin the only one on hand to issue the correction.
