(DENVER) — Denver Nuggets general manager Masai Ujiri was named the NBA’s executive of the year on Thursday.
Ujiri put together a squad that won a club-record 57 games despite not having a player on this season’s All-Star team. Denver finished with a home record of 38-3. They were eliminated by the Golden State Warriors in six games in the first round of the NBA Western Conference playoffs.
Ujiri finished with 59 points, followed by Los Angeles Clippers vice president of basketball operations Gary Sacks with 28 points. Tied for third with 25 points was Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey and New York Knicks general manager Glen Grunwald.
The announcement comes a day after Nuggets head coach George Karl won the NBA’s Coach of the Year.
