(NEW YORK) — Where most saw tragedy, Nouel Alba allegedly saw opportunity.
After 26 people were shot and killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School, prosecutors say the Bronx, N.Y., woman posted on Facebook that she is the aunt of a dead 6-year-old boy and asked for money.
Court records say she posted photographs of the child and solicited donations for his funeral.
People sent $240 to a Paypal account.
Alba is not related to the boy and has been charged with identity theft and fraud.
