Simpson is claiming that the first lawyer who represented him in his 2008 attempted robbery and kidnapping case mishandled the matter.

Simpson was found guilty of leading an armed heist in a Las Vegas hotel room to retrieve personal photographs from two memorabilia dealers.  Simpson alleged the photos were stolen from him.

The NFL Hall of Famer was sentenced to nine-to-33 years behind bars, with his first parole hearing not due until 2017.

However, Simpson, now 65, maintains that attorney Yale Galanter did a poor job representing him after the lawyer supposedly told Simpson that he was within his rights to take back his personal property.

Simpson is also expected to state in court Wednesday that Galanter failed to tell him about a plea deal that would have only sent him to prison for two years.

Testimony is expected to wrap up at the end of the week, with Galanter telling his side of the story.
