(SYDNEY) – Police have called-off the search for an Australian couple who went missing from the Carnival Cruise Spirit off the east coast of Australia Wednesday night.
Surveillance video from the cruise-liner showed the two people going over the railing of the boat at about mid-deck about 75 miles off the coastal city of Forster, Australia according to BBC News.
They were not reported as missing until Thursday morning when the ship docked in Sydney, almost 200 miles south of Forster.
“Unfortunately, we have been unable to locate any sign of both people and, again, our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, friends and relatives of the people that we are looking for,” said Detective Superintendent, Mark Hutchings.
The missing couple has been identified as Paul Rossington, 30, and Kristen Schroder, 27, according the Australian broadcaster ABC.
Investigators are having the video ‘enhanced’ to try to learn if they jumped or fell by accident.
