The Penguins overcame three separate one-goal deficits throughout the game, as they eliminate the Islanders in six games.

“I’m definitely not a goal-scorer, but he laid it right on a tee for me,” Orpik said after scoring only his 12th-career NHL goal. “I wish I can say I was trying to go there, but I was just trying to put it on net, and found a hole.”

The Islanders had a 3-2 lead late in the third period when Paul Martin scored a game-tying goal with 5:16 remaining.  A win would have sent the teams back to Pittsburgh for a Game 7.

Tomas Vokoun gave up three goals but also stopped 35 shots in net for Pittsburgh.

The Penguins advance to play the Ottawa Senators in the second round.
