Premiere Date for “Star Trek Into Darkness” Moved Up a Day
Published at(LOS ANGELES) — Paramount Pictures has moved up the U.S. premiere date for Star Trek Into Darkness after learning that many advance IMAX screenings had sold out, Deadline.com reports.
The J.J. Abrams-directed sequel will now premiere on Thursday, May 16, instead of Friday, May 17.
The studio made the move after special IMAX sneak-peek screenings on Wednesday, May 15, quickly sold out. The screenings, which include 30 minutes of IMAX camera footage, sold out in Austin, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, San Diego, Seattle, Philadelphia and Washington D.C.
Star Trek Into Darkness stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Zoe Saldana, and Benedict Cumberbatch.
