The Rangers went nearly two full games without scoring a goal, but managed to score four against Capitals goalie Braden Holtby.

“It’s a good group of guys,” Rangers coach John Tortorella said. “It’s just trying to get momentum on your side and finding a way to win the hockey game. We got it done.”

Derek Stepan gave the Rangers the lead for good, scoring a goal with 6:25 remaining in the third period.

“As a team we just stuck together,” Stepan said.  “On the bench everyone had a good feeling.”

Washington still leads the series 2-1 with Game 4 set for Wednesday night at the Garden.
