(NEW YORK) — Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski underwent a fourth surgery on his forearm Monday, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Doctors inserted new plates in to repair the previously broken forearm, and they believe that the infection in his forearm is gone.
Without any setbacks, the estimated timetable for a full recovery is around 10 weeks.
Gronkowski may not be out of the woods just yet, as he recently underwent an MRI on his back to further inspect a disk injury that he sustained last season.
Sources told Schefter that Gronkowski will visit noted spine specialist Robert Watkins in California in three to four weeks to decide whether he needs back surgery.
