Roy Halladay to Undergo Tests on Right Shoulder
Published at(PHILADELPHIA) — Phillies pitcher Roy Halladay suffered one of the worst losses of his career this past weekend, and afterwards he admitted that he has been pitching while hurt.
Halladay gave up nine runs in just 2 1/3 innings in a loss to the Miami Marlins on Sunday. After the game he said he has been experiencing right shoulder discomfort since his April 24 start against Pittsburgh.
“It’s not something that I had before,” he said. “It’s something new this year. I felt good all spring, felt good all year. Just got up after that start against Pittsburgh and had soreness in there and just wasn’t able to get ready.”
The two-time Cy Young Award winner will fly to Los Angeles to see orthopedist Lewis Yocum and hopes to know more about his shoulder injury in the coming days.
Halladay is 2-4 with an 8.65 ERA for the struggling Phillies this season.
