State Hospital South Adding More Headstones

(BLACKFOOT, ID) – State Hospital South added more than 100 headstones to its cemetery this week. For nearly a century, the hospital buried former patients unclaimed by their families in unmarked graves. Administrator Tracey Sessions says that before she retires, she’d like to see headstones for everyone buried on the property. Sessions hopes to add another 300 headstones over the next year.
