With the victory, the Whitecaps snapped a seven-game losing streak to the Galaxy.

Teibert, a three-year Major League Soccer veteran, put Vancouver on the board in the 63rd minute with an assist from Nigel Reo-Coke for a 1-0 lead. He would add his second goal of the game in the 76th minute, but was giving a yellow card due to excessive celebration.

The Galaxy’s lone score came in the 86th minute from Gyasi Zardes off of a pass from Jose Villarreal. The Whitecaps would pad their lead with a goal from Darren Mattocks in the 92nd minute.

Last year, during their run to the MLS championship, Los Angeles knocked off Vancouver in the opening round of the playoffs.
