The Grizzlies, who were down 93-90, actually had a chance to tie the game with 1.6 seconds remaining when Reggie Jackson fouled Quincey Pondexter as he attempted a 3-pointer. Pondexter missed two of the three attempts to ice the game for Oklahoma City.

Marc Gasol scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the loss.

Kevin Martin played big off the bench for the Thunder, scoring 25 points and nabbing 7 rebounds.

Game 2 of the series is Tuesday in Oklahoma City. Tip-off is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. Eastern.
