Trail Blazers’ Matthews Has Elbow Surgery
Published at(PORTLAND, Ore) — The Portland Trail Blazers announced guard Wesley Mathews had successful arthroscopic surgery on his left elbow Wednesday.
The procedure was performed by Dr. Ken Yamaguchi at Washington University Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
The 26-year-old Matthews is expected to need 3-4 weeks to recover.
Matthews, who just finished his fourth NBA season, started 69 games for the Trail Blazers this season averaging 14.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists. Matthews also hit a career-high 169 3-pointers.
