“As an artist, it’s important that I expand creatively into new areas.  Working on the score and fireworks design has been a great experience that’s allowed me to share my voice in a new way,” Usher explains.

As in previous years, the pyrotechnic display will unfold in the skies over the Hudson River and on television screens across the country.  What makes this go-round special though, is that spectators will be hearing Usher’s biggest hits ring out along with classics including “America the Beautiful,” “God Bless America” and “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

In addition to Usher’s own songs, the evening’s score will reflect his wide-ranging taste in music, including a mix of pop, soul, country and electronic dance music.  Along with the tunes, Usher also joined forces with Macy’s fireworks designers to provide inspiration for the pyrotechnics that are choreographed to the score.

Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular airs on NBC, July 4 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, 8 p.m. CT/MT.  Check your local listings for details.  Additional musical acts will be announced.
