Viagra Online Sales: Pfizer to Sell Drug on Website

BusinessWire/Pfizer(NEW YORK) — No more turning red-faced for men who want the little blue pill. Instead of talking to a pharmacist, you can now buy Viagra online with a prescription.
Pfizer, the maker of the drug, says the move will fight fake versions being sold online. The company says Viagra is its most counterfeited medicine.
“The site, which is powered by CVS/pharmacy and accessible through Viagra.com, offers men with erectile dysfunction (ED) an opportunity to purchase Viagra online (with a valid prescription) from a trusted source,” the company said Monday.
“With the proliferation of fake online pharmacies, it is important that consumers know which sites are legitimate,” the company said. “After a recent review of more than 10,000 Internet outlets selling prescription drugs, [the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy] listed almost 97 percent of the sites as ‘Not Recommended’ because they did not appear to meet criteria for legitimate online pharmacies.”
Pfizer is offering three free pills with the first order and 30 percent off the second order. The Viagra home ordering system is available at Viagra.com.
