(NEW YORK) — Eleven-time PGA Tour winner Miller Barber passed away on Tuesday at the age of 82. The PGA Tour made the announcement on Wednesday, but did not reveal the cause of death.
Barber holds the record for most combined starts on both the PGA Tour and the Champions Tour, with 1,297. In 603 starts on the Champions Tour, he won 24 events.
“Rest in peace Miller Barber,” golfer Geoff Ogilvy wrote on his Twitter account. “Thanks for all the tips and stories. The back of the range at Whisper Rock will never be the same.”
Barber ranks fourth all-time on the Champions Tour wins list, behind Hale Irwin (45), Lee Trevino (29) and Gil Morgan (25).
