(NEW YORK) — All these years later, forensic scientists at the medical examiner’s office in New York say they have identified the remains of a woman killed in the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks.
The 43-year-old woman’s name will not be released, at her family’s request.
These latest remains were recovered during the original excavation of the World Trade Center site and retested using the latest DNA technology.
The total number of WTC identifications is now 1636.
