(COLUMBUS, Ohio) — Center Artem Anisimov signed a three-year contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets Wednesday.
The 25-year-old was acquired by the Blue Jackets last season in a trade that sent Rick Nash to the New York Rangers.
The past few weeks Blue Jackets general manager Jarmo Kekalainen has talked about reaching a deal with Anisimov.
“It was a lengthy negotiation, but he’s a good player and he deserves the right to negotiate his contract,” Kekalainen told the team’s website. “He’s a very versatile, skilled player with long reach and he’s hard to play against. He has the hockey sense and he’s also a good playmaker, a guy that can finish.”
Anisimov played 35 games with Columbus tallying 11 goals in seven assists.
In five NHL seasons with the Rangers and Blue Jackets, Anisimov has 57 goals and 69 assists.
