(KETCHUM, ID) – The family of an Idaho soldier being held captive by the Taliban is encouraged by news that insurgents are willing to negotiate a prisoner exchange. Under terms offered earlier this week, the Taliban is willing to exchange Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl for five senior operatives currently imprisoned in Guantanamo Bay. This month marks the fourth anniversary of Bergdahl’s capture after he walked off his base in Afghanistan. Bergdahl’s family has declined press interviews, though they plan to speak at an event honoring their son this Saturday in Hailey.
