The series is now tied at a game a piece.

Although the Bruins won, the game started off all Blackhawks. The Hawks outshot the B’s 19-4 in the period, and Patrick Sharp scored his ninth goal of the playoffs to give Chicago a 1-0 lead after one.

“We we’re in survival mode there for a bit,” Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask said when asked about the first period. “It looked like they had more guys out there then we did. They were bouncing on every single puck in front of the net. They had a lot of chances and we definitely played pretty bad. But it was good that we were only down one and regrouped after that.”

And that’s exactly what the Bruins did. The Bruins outshot the Blackhawks 24-15 for the rest of the game.

B’s head coach Claude Julien made what proved to be the golden move by putting Tyler Seguin on a line with Chris Kelly and Paille. The move worked, as that line accounted for both goals in the win.

Game 3 is Monday night in Boston. The puck is set to drop at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.
