Casper to Run For Idaho Falls Mayor

(IDAHO FALLS, ID)  —  Rebecca Casper announced her intentions to run for Mayor of Idaho Falls this week.   She currently is an adjunct professor at BYU-Idaho and Eastern Idaho Technical College where she teaches courses on American Government.    She earned her PhD from UC-Berkeley and has enjoyed several appointments in the private sector including ownership of Omnia Strategies, a political and professional consulting business.   Dr. Casper has also worked in Washington D.C. as a research associate at the Brookings Institution.   She currently chairs the Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce’s Legislative Committee, and has been active in both county and regional GOP politics.   She raised her kids on the west-side of Idaho Falls and has been active in her children’s education having served in a variety of capacities with Idaho Falls School District 91.  She is a co-founder and served as the first director of the Mayor’s Scholarship Fund program, which provides awards to local students in grades 8-12.    You can more information on Dr. Casper on her website:   casperformayor.com
