(REXBURG, ID) – Madison County has the lowest concealed weapon permit fees in the region, but it may not keep that designation for long. Sheriff Roy Klingler says the county’s $54 fee is at least $20 cheaper than in neighboring counties. He’s wants to boost fees to $75, more than half of which will go to the state. Commissioners will vote on the proposed increase next Tuesday. Beginning July 1, applicants can also seek an enhanced license, which will enable Idaho residents to carry concealed weapons in more than 40 states.
