(WASHINGTON, DC) – A comprehensive immigration reform bill passed in the U.S. Senate Thursday, but not with the approval of Idaho’s senators.  Republican Sens. Mike Crapo and Jim Risch cast “no” votes on the bill, which would provide a path to citizenship for nearly 11 million illegal immigrants living in the U.S. Both lawmakers say they’re fine with immigrants wanting to get right with the law, but they’re disappointed that the bill didn’t do enough to secure the southern border to discourage further illegal activity. The bill now heads to the House where it faces an uncertain future amid tough GOP opposition.
