Cuddyer went 3-for-4 with four RBIs, and has now reached base a franchise record 40 straight games.

Despite the impressive streak, Rockies skipper Walt Weiss doesn’t think it means much to Cuddyer.

“He doesn’t care about that stuff,” Weiss said. “He likes to show up, compete and work on his beard. That’s all that matters to Cuddy.”

Rockies pitcher Jorge De La Rosa (8-4) limited the Nationals to two runs through six innings of work to get the win.

The win puts the Rockies (39-38) three games behind the Arizona Diamondbacks for first in the NL West, while the Nationals (37-38) are now six games behind the Atlanta Braves for first in the NL East.
