Golf? SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1372035525383(MUNICH) — This is getting to be routine for Ernie Els, as he has won the BMW International Open for his 28th European Tour Title.

Els (of South Africa) won by just one stroke shooting at 18-under 270, narrowly topping Thomas Bjorn of Denmark.

With the win, Els becomes the first South African to win the BMW International in the competition’s 25th edition.

“I’m a very young 43-year-old,” Els joked afterward. “There’s not a younger 43-year-old, I promise.”

“I’ve tried a long time to win this golf tournament. I really had it going and then I made it tough for myself again,” Els added, referring to his bogey on the 11th hole.

Els came very close to losing to Bjorn. Both were tied for the lead before Bjorn’s double bogey at the 14th hole. That combined with a bogey at No. 11 sealed his fate.

Defending champion Danny Willett of England shot a 72 in the final round, finishing tied for 18th.
