Four Men Sue Boy Scouts, LDS Church

(BOISE, ID) – Four men have filed a joint lawsuit against the Boy Scouts of America and the LDS Church claiming that both organizations failed to protect them from sexual abuse. Three of the men were scouts in Mormon-sponsored troops in Idaho during the 1980s. A fourth man belonged to a troop sponsored by the Elk’s Club in Lewiston. The plaintiffs are asking for monetary compensation of $75,000 each. Spokespersons for both organizations say they’re taken steps to prevent sexual abuse in area scout troops.
