Four More Cases of MERS Coronavirus Spring Up in Saudi Arabia

iStockphoto/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — Four more people have contracted the MERS coronavirus in Saudi Arabia, according to health officials. All of them have already recovered.
All four patients were women, according to the Kingdom’s Ministry of Health. Three of them were health care workers, the ministry said in a statement.
Saudi Arabia has seen 53 cases of the MERS coronavirus since the outbreak started in April 2013. Thirty-two of them have been fatal.
Infections have also emerged in Jordan, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Tunisia, Germany, the United Kingdom, France and Italy, according to the World Health Organization.
