John Oliver to Take Over “The Daily Show” for Eight Weeks
Published at(NEW YORK) — British comedian John Oliver takes over The Daily Show on Monday for eight weeks of new shows while Jon Stewart takes the summer off from Comedy Central to direct his first feature film.
Stewart is directing a film based on BBC journalist Maziar Bahari’s memoir Then They Came for Me: A Family’s Story of Love, Captivity and Survival.
The book tells the story of Bahari’s 2009 arrest and imprisonment by the Iranian government while covering an election protest.
