Mayim Bialik Is Sick of Parenting Criticism

Jason Merritt/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Mayim Bialik doesn’t want to defend how she raises her children anymore.
The Big Bang Theory actress, who made headlines earlier this year because of her book about attachment parenting, said she still gets flack from friends and strangers regarding her parenting style.
“If I’m talking to girlfriends, if I’m talking to random people, and we’re talking about parenting, I tell them what works for me and why. But a lot of people want to ask me things so that they can fight with me,” the 37-year-old mother of two said on OMG by Yahoo! “And just because I’m a public person, who happened to have breastfed and slept with her kids, that doesn’t mean that I want to fight with you on the street or in the supermarket.”
“So, I think you have to be really careful to understand why people want to know what they want to know,” she continued.
Bialik made headlines with her book about attachment parenting, Beyond the Sling, in which she revealed that she still breastfed Fred, who is nearly 4, and said she and her now divorced husband, Michael Stone, slept on the floor in a family bed with the two boys.
