(LOS ANGELES) — Forward Nneka Ogwumike led the Sparks with 16 points and seven rebounds as Los Angeles (3-2) took care of the San Antonio Silver Stars (2-4) Saturday night, 84-48.
The Sparks took control of the game in the third quarter when they outscored the Silver Stars, 26-8. When the buzzer sounded, L.A. was victorious in the paint, scoring 46-20 while turning San Antonio’s season-worst 25 turnovers into 27 points.
Los Angeles forward Candace Parker and guard Kristi Toliver contributed 13 points and six assists each in the winning effort.
San Antonio was led by guard Danielle Adams with 12 points while guard Shenise Johnson added 11. The Silver Stars were playing without leading rebounder Jayne Appel.
