Pocatello Group Gets Lead Testing Grant

(POCATELLO, ID) – Pocatello Neighborhood Housing Services has been awarded a $22,000 grant to measure the amount of lead in homes. The funds, which were made available through the Portneuf Healthcare Foundation, will enable the group to assist about 30 residents make their homes safer. Organizers say lead paint is often a hidden danger in many of the city’s older homes, which can have detrimental health effects on children, pregnant women, and the elderly.
