S.J. Earthquakes Comeback To Defeat L.A. Galaxy, 3-2
Published at(STANFORD, Calif.) — The San Jose Earthquakes (5-7-6) defeated the Los Angeles Galaxy (7-7-3) on Saturday night, 3-2 behind a pair of late second half goals.
The Earthquakes tied the game in the 92nd minute after Shea Salinas kicked in a loose rebound. A minute later, Alan Gordon scored the go-ahead goal to give San Jose their second come from behind victory over L.A. in two seasons.
The Galaxy got on the scoreboard first with a goal from Marcelo Sarvas in the 20th minute. They would take a 2-0 lead in the 65th minute on a score from Hector Jimenez. San Jose came right back three minutes later on a goal from Gordon.
San Jose was down to 10 players in the 77th minute after Victor Bernardez received two yellow cards within eight minutes.
