Simpson Fighting Obama’s Emission Plan
Published at | Updated at(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – U.S. Rep. Mike Simpson is leading the fight against President Obama’s plan to regulate greenhouse gas emissions. Simpson, who chairs a House committee that oversees the Environmental Protection Agency, says the president is out of touch on energy issues. Simpson believes the administration’s plan would cripple coal-fired power plants, which provide electricity to 42 percent of the nation’s homes and businesses. He says regulatory control of greenhouse gasses should belong to Congress, rather than the president.
