(NEW YORK) — Jay-Z’s new sports agency may have reeled in its biggest client yet.
Sources confirmed to ESPN that Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant intends to leave his current agent and sign with Roc Nation Sports.
Durant is in no need of an NBA contract. He signed an $85 million extension that will keep him in Oklahoma City at least through the 2015-16 season. The source confirms that Durant is teaming up with Jay-Z to increase his brand.
A spokesman for Roc Nation Sports told ESPN that Durant is not currently a client. Jay-Z may have to wait until he sells his small ownership share in the Brooklyn Nets before signing Durant. A source tells ESPN that Jay-Z’s ownership sale has not yet been completed.
Durant would be joining New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano and New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith as current clients of Jay-Z.
