State Investigating Fremont County Assessor

(ST. ANTHONY, ID) – The Idaho State Tax Commission is investigating allegations of misconduct in the Fremont County Assessor’s Office. According to a report released by the state, the county allegedly assessed properties at prices that were not consistent with market values. Authorities say they were alerted to the activity by a former county employee who claims they were fed up with what was going on. They plan to have the investigation completed by the end of the month. Fremont County officials have been advised not to comment.
