Super Moon Expected this Weekend
Published at(NEW YORK) — Stargazers are in for a rare treat this weekend.
If you see the full moon and think it looks a little different, you’re not dreaming. Astronomers say the sun, moon and Earth are aligning to create a rare super moon.
Because the moon orbits the earth in an elliptical pattern — not a circle — at times, it’s closer. And since the full moon is happening at its closest point, scientists say it’ll appear 15 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter.
