(PITTSBURGH) — Tuukka Rask stopped all 29 goals he faced as the Boston Bruins blanked the Pittsburgh Penguins, 3-0 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals Saturday night.
Bruins center David Krejci put Boston on the board 8:23 into the first period with an assist from Nathan Horton and Andrew Ference. Krejci would score again 4:04 into the third period to give him seven goals in the post season. Nathan Horton followed up with an insurance goal for Boston, 7:51 into the final period.
“That line was really good for us tonight,” Bruins head coach Claude Julien said of his first line led by Krejci and Horton. “They made some great plays and scored some big goals for us.”
Game 2 is set for Monday night in Pittsburgh.
