(IDAHO FALLS, ID)  —  Witnesses saw three people enter the Snake River near Keefer’s Island around 9:30pm Thursday evening.  Two people made it to shore, but the third person did not.   This resulted in a major search and rescue effort beginning at the shore of the Shilo Inn in Idaho Falls.  Four divers and two support groups on each bank scoured the river until 11pm when they suspended the search.   Sometime shortly after the search ended, a body of a man in his 20’s was recovered from the river.   Police have not released any information on the man pending notification of his family.

The search delayed the Melaleuca Freedom Celebration fireworks show for close to an hour.
