(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – It’s been a year since texting while driving became illegal in Idaho. Since July 1, 2012, Idaho State Police have issued a total of 66 citations for texting drivers statewide. Trooper Peter Sibus says the law hasn’t done much to crack down on texters. He says that in most cases, texting drivers are cited for failure to maintain traffic lanes instead, because it’s much easier to prove. Texting while driving in Idaho carries a $90 fine and three points on your driving record.
