Barnes stepped to the plate in the 8th innning needing a double to complete his cycle. That is exactly what he got as Barnes finished the night 5-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBIs.

As for Miller, he finished 3-for-5. His home runs were the first of his major league career.

Despite the performances of the two rookies, both their teams don’t look ready to make the playoffs.

The Astros (33-62) have the worst record in baseball and the Mariners (44-52) are 10 games out of a Wild Card spot.
