Bomb Threat Suspect Misses Arraignment

(POCATELLO, ID) – A man accused of calling in a bomb threat at the Chubbuck Walmart earlier this year missed his court hearing Monday, but not for reasons court officials expected. Brian Lavatta was supposed to be arraigned Monday, but never showed up. After issuing a warrant and making a few calls, Lavatta’s attorney and the judge learned that Lavatta had been in jail for the past three days. Lavatta claims he called in the threat on April 28 because the voices in his head told him to. He faces a felony charge of falsely reporting an explosive in a public place.
