Brewers Activate Braun, Place Ramirez on DL

Modra/Sports Imagery/ Getty Images(MILWAUKEE) — The Milwaukee Brewers activated Ryan Braun from the 15-day disabled list and placed third baseman Aramis Ramirez on the 15-day DL with a sprained left knee. Braun had been on the DL since June 14, with a inflamed nerve between his right thumb and index finger making it hard for him to grip the bat.
The former MVP is hitting .304 with nine homers and 36 RBI in 57 games this season.
Meanwhile, Ramirez has been dealing with the knee issue most of the season. He originally hurt the knee in spring training and then again in April, after which he spent a month on the DL.
The Ramirez move is retroactive to Sunday.
For the season, Ramirez is hitting .271 with five home runs and 26 RBI.
