Cano had X-Rays which came back negative and the 30-year-old is hopeful he can play when the Yankees take on the Red Sox Friday.

“It just felt a little tight and I didn’t want to aggravate it,” Cano said of why he left the game. “It’s nothing bad.”

Cano stayed on base for one batter before Dustin Pedroia replaced him as a pinch runner.

Cano is hitting .302, with 21 homers and 65 RBIs this season.
