Kemp injured himself Friday night while swinging the bat against the San Francisco Giants and has been unable to play since. Kemp tried to take batting practice on Monday, but he experienced soreness and the team decided to shut him down with the All-Star break approaching.

Unfortunately for the Dodgers, this is Kemp’s second stint on the disabled list. He missed 24 games with a right hamstring strain.

Kemp is frustrated with being back on the disabled list.

“It’s going to take longer than a couple of days,” Kemp said when asked about he severity of the injury. “I just want to play and I want to be 100 percent when I play. I’m not good when I’m 70-80 percent. I may be all right, but I want to be more than all right.”

Kemp is one of the more talented players in the league. Still, even when healthy, he’s struggled to generate much offense so far this season. In 61 games, Kemp is batting just .254 with four home runs.
