Detroit will sign Billups to a two-year deal.  The first season of Billups' contract is guaranteed -- for $2.5 million in 2013-14.

The 36-year-old Billups played for the Pistons from 2002-2008 before he was traded to the Denver Nuggets.  Billups led the Pistons to the 2004 NBA title, winning NBA Finals MVP in the process.

Billups has only played in 42 games over the last two seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers because of various injuries.

He holds career averages of 15.4 and 5.5 assists in 16 seasons with the Pistons, Nuggets, Clippers, Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors, Minnesota Timberwolves, and New York Knicks.
