That message comes from family members of Hezbollah fighters from Lebanon who’ve been deployed to assist Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s military in its battle against opposition forces.

Thousands of Hezbollah fighters are now reportedly in Syria in an operation that has boosted al-Assad’s efforts to remain in power after 28 months of civil war.

However, The Jerusalem Post reports an Arab newspaper as saying that a delegation of people who’ve lost relatives in Syria is now appealing to the Hezbollah Shura Council in Lebanon to end its assistance to Damascus.

It’s doubtful that Hezbollah leadership will heed the wishes of the delegation, even as fears mount that the longer the group stays in Syria, the greater the chances the Lebanese government will be dragged into the conflict.  This could also lead to sectarian warfare between Sunnis and Shiites in Lebanon, since these sects are fighting one another in Syria.
