Technology website Android Central has gotten what is allegedly the first images of the refreshed 7-inch tablet, which appears to have a slightly different black design, two cameras and a faster Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor. The model was also running a new version of Android 4.3.

It also looks like you won’t have to wait too long to buy the tablet. Retailers, including Office Max, are expected to get the new tablet in the next week. According to Engadget, which first reported on the retailer stock, the 32GB model will cost $269.99. The current 16GB version of the Nexus 7 starts at $199.

When reached by ABC News, Google would not comment on the reports. However, on Wednesday, Google sent members of the media invites to a company event next Wednesday, July 24. “Please join us for breakfast with Sundar Pichai,” the invite reads.

Pichai is the head of the Android and Chrome divisions at Google. While there has been little Chrome OS speculation, Pichai is likely to talk about the browser-based operating system in addition to Android.

Google released the original Nexus 7 last June at its Google I/O event and it quickly became one of the best-selling tablets at $199. Months later Apple released the similarly-sized iPad Mini for a $329 starting price. Its closest rival, the $199 Amazon Kindle Fire HD, is also expected to be updated this fall ahead of the holiday season.
