Idaho Falls Could Fine Goose, Duck Feeders


(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – The city of Idaho Falls wants to crack down on people feeding ducks, geese, and pigeons on the greenbelt. Under a proposal currently being discussed, those caught feeding the birds would be fined $100. City officials say they need effective ways to deal with the overpopulation of waterfowl along the river, which have become dependent on humans for food. The city would also negotiate a contract with the USDA to treat goose eggs with chemicals to keep them from hatching
